What do you do with waste 2 stroke fuel?

Strimming my allotment didn't use the whole tank of fuel which left me with left over. I was told as the petrol evaporates it gets sludgy and not to use it in the strimmer after it had been left for a while. So how/where can I dispose of it?

It's good for at least a couple of months. Hang on to it.....me thinks you're going to need it again!

I guess there's only a small quantity. I don't know how unethical it would be to leave it somewhere in a wide mouthed container with the lid off and let it evaporate. Otherwise maybe the used engine oil department at the local tip. Mine just gets poured in the car, but that's perhaps not advisable for modern ones.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can't upset them all at once either.

Unfortunately it's more like 6 months old.

Put it back into a plastic container and when you come to use the strimmer again filter the petrol in through a pair of ladies tights.
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Kea

So the tights would remove the oil component of the mix.....so you just mix in fresh oil?

Kea

Oh any particular denier needed....for the tights ;)

Only joking! obviously as fine as possible!

I dont think it will be as big a problem as people make out. I wuld just leave it and top up with some fresh when you next use it.

Give it a real good shake before using and it should be OK as long as it's been in a sealed container.
