I got a beautiful black currant bush from a lovely lady that is starting to bud, Can I plant this outside, its a year old do you think I will get fruit from it this year

Get it in asap providing the ground is not frozen.

Mulch around it to keep fros at bay until such times as new roots take a grip.

Fruit this year?? Will depend upon how it is pruned but I wouldn't plan on it.
