Can you get shop bought onion sets (heat treated) not on-line.

It looks to me like the postage is terrible on most of my catalogues for these?

It would be much easier to get them from a shop I could just visit.

Marshalls were charging £3.35 for the sets but £3.85 postage!!!!

Is this what people are use too?

:o ???

As one who has been growing and buying for more years than I care to recall I have found that since the hype of 'growing organic' and 'grow your own' prices have just rocketed.

I still say; get together with a few of your neighbours and buy bulk.

For instance Suttons will give 33% off orders over £60 (at least they did last year)  and at prices as they are today it doesn't take long to build up an order to £60

Thats good advice TeeGee but only one of my neighbours grows veg in their garden.  :(

It doesn't matter if the order contains flower seeds as well.

I must mention that with sundries such a fruit trees & tools etc  you will only get 10% off

Hi Chris

Gosh that sounds like an awful lot of money for postage.  I would get them local to you if you can.

My local garden centre hasn't had any in yet but I will be hurtling down there when they are in!

I am afraid I don't buy my seeds in bulk - I am not that organised I am afraid.  Great if you are the sort that plans properly - but I still like to pick up the packet have a look etc etc.  Maybe a girly thing - the not planning - I mean!!
