if i cover over  a bit of my plot that i havent got round to yet will it kill the crouch grass or will i have to dig it then cover it i dont or didnt want to use weed killerso will this work ???  please hellllllp!!!

cutting the couch failry short then covering with something that will totally stop the light worked for me.  Still get the odd sprout of couch after the uncovering but nothing that I can't keep up with.

cover it and leave until you have time to attend to it. you will still need to dig out the roots when you come to it but they will be weaker and the topgrowth will have died off. it makes it a lot easier.
