Allotments 4 All

Hi all,

I've recently become addicted to spring greens and the chickens go mad for them as well. Rather than wait to start sowing in late summer for spring harvest can I sow some in spring - or even late winter (ie soon) in the greenhouse?

Will they bolt with rising temperatures and longer days?

Having a quick hunt round, Advantage and Pixie  are said to be sowable all year.

They're spring cabbages that you eat before they've hearted.  I love them because they're a very early crop, and tenderer than the winter cabbages taht have been sat around for a while.   Also, you can plant out much closer together, only about 6" apart.  Then the thinnings are spring greens, the second thinning is hearted greens, and whats left becomes a spring cabbage.
