Hubbie made his trecle tart over christmas, this is an amazing program and entertaining.

I'd love to have been the McDonald's employee who served Heston Blumenthal a Big Mac. "And would you like garlic, thyme and peppercorn-infused sherry with that, sir?" I'd have asked, and he'd have answered, "Yes, actually." Because this week the man who could spend months scrambling an egg is after making the perfect hamburger, researching it everywhere from the golden arches to a posh Knightsbridge butcher, and including in his ingredients that fancy sherry, some Comté cheese, specially "seam-boned" brisket, and a chemical that's more often used to cure cystitis. No-one could call him obvious.

I watched the programm and on it He was eating raw beef. That`s a great way to get tapeworms. The tape worm laids its eggs on grass which the cow then eats. The tape worm eggs lays dorment in raw beef until eaten. And then Bingo we get them.

his restaurant in bray serves strange gear,snails and alike,and there's about a six month waiting list to get in.

no way - have you never heard of steak tartare - if the meat is of excellent quality it is perfectly good to eat raw, same with fish, believe me as a chef he wouldn't eat raw meat if he didn't know it was of the best quality  :)

I agreee I love stea tartare and carpacchio of beef - both raw meat dishes. But having now watched this programme for the first time I am i stiches. I love the bun for the burger, where they are looking for perfect squidginess and after trying several recipies they leave and then cut back to Hes who says.......3 months later. Classic! I nearly dropped my glass of red  ;D ;D

Has anyone counted the food mils that went into his food though - flour from canada etc.

Bit curious. How does a worm egg pas from the cows stomach(s) into its muscle ?
