There are some clips about my village on the 'Youtube' site. Can't see a way to 'grab'em...Is it possible to download them to my 'puter'?

I think you have to register before you can save them

I have registered and I have saved 26 clips on the site. I was hoping there was a way to put them on my 'puters HD so I can transfer to CD.

This is a common question asked on a teaching forum I go on. You can find directions posted here:

Seems I would need a Mac or Vista to download the necessary!

Here's how I do it on mac if it helps, sometimes the programmes are ok on both PC and mac

In the Firefox internet browser there's a small box on the bottom right of the screen that allows you to download youtube clips. You then have to convert these into avi/mp3 or 4's using isquint. If you can find the equivalent for PC Bob's your uncle!

I have used this website from time to time to download clips from You Tube. It's a little slow but it's completely free of charge and does work.

Otherwise this one is a little faster and will convert virtually anything to anything, including You Tube's flv files into other video formats. ;)
