it happens now and again, is there any thing i can do about it ? is it a program i havn,t got? but how do i know which one? help in simple language please

Could be one of two things : either the poster of the image has failed to post it properly and there is no image to see OR you have your web browser set not to show images. there may be other reasons and if so I sure that someone on here will let you know

it's happening to me now with your avatar WAS.

oh yes i,v never seen it there before. it,s not just me then mmm i see most pictures just want to see all of them nosy begger me

If images fail to display and you know they are there it could be your adblocker set up too fierce.

then why can i see everybodys avatar except wassisnames? not sure what to do about my adblocker if it is that it is not very good at blocking adds

It's possible that wassisnames picture for his avatar is not linked to correctly, or indeed has been deleted from his PC since selecting to use it, in which case the "net" won't be able to find it. Hence the red cross.

Try right clicking on the cross, and select "show picture" and see if that helps with some of the images you can't see.

i tried that it didnt work on that one or the other which is in the watershed but i will remember to try it on others in the future. the thing is i don,t know if others are seeing what i cannot see if you know what i mean. anyway thanks for the tip

I can't see Wassisname's avatar, but I don't get the red cross - I just assumed he hasn't uploaded a pic yet.  It was a while before I put my avatar on.

I have never used an avitar, that is why you cannot see one

I recon it the red cross question has been answered ....
