Mini jungle

I have an area between the recycling bins and the back gate which is in semi-shade.  I've tended to use it as a sanctuary for plants out of season or those needing a bit of TLC.  Anyway, my daughter bought this huge bundle of 6 foot sticks to put in a vase and gave me the surplus.  I've attached them to the fence panel with a couple of horizontal wires, positioned the wayward fatsia at the back and added the 'out of seasons' at the front.  Hey presto.  A mini jungle.   ;D  G x

You make it sound so easy G, and with super results :)
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Ah Kitten, you ain't seen all the failing bits of the garden.  Funnily enough my camera batteries run out just as I'm about to take the pictures.  ;D

so now you know why I don't own a camera - or a fisherman relies on word pictures?  ;D much more reliable.... ::)

If you're a fisherman you just stretch out your arms. I remember the guy who was always catching two-pound roach, while I couldn't get anything over a pound. One day he caught a nice half-pounder. 'Look at that, a good two pounds!' He really believed it, he just never weighed his fish. I didn't disillusion him. There was another pool where people were always catching this 24-pound pike. Always at exactly 24 lb, over a good few years. Pike weights vary considerably over short periods, and they don't live that long, especially if they get caught a lot. They were catching jacks (small pike) and fantasising.

It looks good Georgie.  It's often difficult to know what to do with the shady areas but you have it looking good as well as using it as a sanctuary for those plants that need to be out of the sun.

LOL @ Lishka.   ;D

Thanks Pauline.  The beauty of growing so much in pots is that you can keep moving things around until you get an effect you like.  I can't wait for the Schizostylis to come out later this month and brighten it up a bit.  I hope you had a good holiday.  Did you visit any nice gardens?

It poured with rain every day so we didn't get out very much.  I was also in too much pain to go walking around gardens but am having my op 1st October just after another 2 weeks in France.

Georgie

Oh what a shame, Pauline.   :(  I'll PM you.
