Hey there,

We bought you the giant potatoes a fortnight ago this weeks harvest has bought about giant shallots this week.

Click here for a picture of our Monster Shallots

Have you been finding that the vegetables this year are monsterous compared to last? or do you feel they are smaller? or just normal? Any varieties in particular are massive.

Also on the plot his week, lushess gladioli, runner beans harvests, peppers swelling and strawberry runners have been planted.

Oh behave!!  Lovely pictures though.

My stuff is small and late this year, apart from courgettes which we are already getting fed up of.   I MAY just be able to pick the first runner beans this weekend, the french beans are about 4" high, and a couple of the sweetcorns are thinking about flowering.

I reckon the problem here wasn't so much the rain, but the fact it was dark for most of June and July.

Amazin

I reckon you're right Silverbirch - we had the same thing around three or four years ago as I recall, and then when we finally got a break, everything had to scramble to make up for lost time.
Lesson for life:
