This may be a somewhat odd request but I would love to get hold of some chicken feathers, preferably the downy ones from their neck or breast.   The reason I ask is that I have a chicken feather pillow my grandmother made for me over thirty years ago & it's the best pillow I've ever had.   I can't get another as Grandma is dead & I don't have chooks (yet).

I recently washed said pillow & found to my horror that  seam was coming undone when I opened the washing machine to handful of feathers.   I've reclaimed what I could but my pillow is now rather less stuffed than it used to be.

If anybody can help me out with a handful or two ( or three etc.....) then please pm me for my address.

thank you very, very, very much

I'll have a look in my cellar where i plucked last time - cant remember if I threw the bag out though... they will be white feathers if i have them... I'll get back to you.

thank you, I'm not really bothered about the colour as once they're in the pillow I won't see them.

Don't you have to do something to feathers before using them for stuffing?

I have a vague recollection of feathers getting 'maggoty' in a pillow when used too fresh or not preserved properly........or is that just an urban myth?!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
