Dust bin as composter?

As I've a spare dust bin, and all the spare wood that I was going to use to make a composter is going elsewhere, is there any reason why I shouldn't use my spare bin as a composter?

Would it benefit from a few holes drilled in the bottom and sides to let water out and air in respectively?

The only prob that I can think of is that it might be a bit harder than a purpose built one to empty or turn the contents, but I'm sure a bit of extra elbow grease should see to this.

thanks!

The large builders sandbags make a far better compost bin and are much easier to move about. (When empty).

I doubt that a dustbin will be big enough. It could be converted into an incinerator or after alowing for drainage, could be used to contain horseradish or other large invasive plants.
