Hi Guys,

I have been asked to get some advice for a fellow allotment holders.

Hes moving allotment sites and wants to move his redcurrants, raspberry shoots, rhubarb, rosemary, thyme, sage with him.

Any advice??

I have suggested that he cuts his rhubarb down now while its still in the ground as this will lessen shock and it will start making new growths. And when it comes to move take as much of the rootball with it and replant in a large container with some horse manure at the bottom and keep it moist.

But then i got stuck so has anyone else got advice on what to do?

One of my neighbours moved at this time last year and he brought soft fruit, apple trees, herbs, shrubs and even dahlias in flower. They all survived despite the blazing hot July, although they looked pretty miserable until this year.

Plenty of water if dry and yes cut the soft growth off.

Cam, I wanted to move my redcurrant bush and was advised Autumn the time.
Can't help with the rest although I should think the herbs would be fine.  :)
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.
