Can blueberry plants be propagated from cuttings? Any tips?

Layering seems to work well, but to be honest haven't tried cuttings.

Thanks Tee Gee, will try cuttings!

As jennym says layering is a good option.

If you have some low branches why not double your chances and do a bit of layering as well as taking cuttings.

I would suggest sinking 3" pots or a tray filled with ericaceous compost at a point suited to the low branches and pin the branches down down. If you are using a tray pin them at various places along the branch length.

The plant is quite upright and growing in a pot, so layering is tricky. I will try cuttings first.

Useful link for me too, as one of my new blueberries had a nice long shoot snapped by the strong winds this week - still, I may now get a few more plants out of it.

Gladioliis also succumbed to the wind, which had got to them before I could stake them, now staked, didn't actually lose any but they looked quite sad last night.

I've taken 4 cuttings. Just hope they won't succumb to fungal disease as I have to use rainbutt water.
