I hitched up with two old friends from school a few years ago and have remained in contact. It has been brilliant as we always got on well at school and really  just lost touch through moving around.
Have to admit that all the messages I got via FR from other schoolmates I didn't  feel quite the same about got polite but probably rather standoffish replies in the 'thanks but no thanks' mode!

Yep, i'm totally with EJ too.  It's interesting in a nosey kinda way to see what others have done since we all left school, but i'm not the same person as I was back then & neither are they (hopefully!) so what would we have in common now?

I have remained close friends with my best ever friend from school though (we were inseperable at school & quite famous for it!), despite having lost almost total contact during our uni years.  Now we've both moved back 'home' to lincolnshire, are married and settled, and she's just had her first baby - now that's the sort of friend I'm keeping hold of! x

I lost touch with my school deliberately immediately after leaving. A few years I got back in touch with a lot of people from my class, and we mostly seem to get on at least as well as we did back then, and I'm still remembered by most of the teachers we've come across. I can see it wouldn't work for everyone though.

The only true friends I had at school are still my friends to this day.

We had a school reunion or two and they were great fun.Gald we all had to wear name tags because, for the life of me,I could not recognize some of them, and them me probably.

There is now a military section on FR and next Sunday I will be meeting an old Army buddy who I have not seen since 1977.We have spoken on the phone and he sounds the same.Have made contact with a few others too so more reunions on the way I hope.
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose
