After reading so much on here about peoples pots rotting i got worried and lifted 3 plants found 2 soft ones but the rest were perfect though only a few and lots of tinies so obviously not ready yet so left the other 7 plants has at least allayed my fears, soil was quite crumbly nowhere near as wet as i expected. however pulled my radishes today and was too late on some of them should have done them earlier but still tasted good and will know for next time. you live and learn !

Your two softies were probably the "seed" potatoes you planted they go all mushy then disappear...
;D

I pulled some soil away from one of my Desiree plants this morning(and quickly too before it rained again!).

The potatoes were no bigger than an hens egg and looked quite normal despite all the wet stuff.

I will be keeping my eye on them and hoping they dont rot.

Newbie question:  Would there be any indication in the foliage of the tubers rotting?  I mean, if they are rotting, would the leaves go brown or yellow or something?

Acting my shoe size, not my age!

they would go yellow and wilt and then die off
