:) Afternoon all ( notice I didn't say 'good', blinking raining again  :( )

I would like some ideas about what to plant at the side of my new path, I thought at first lavender with a pebble mulch, but as lavender likes a free draining soil, you can see my dilemma,

so, what I would like to do is repeat the plant( what ever that may be) in each of the small beds at the side of the path , but it hasn't got to mind getting it's feet wet quite often  ::)

so all ideas welcome peeps  ;)

Have consulted the RHS plants for places book, which by the way is fantastic. How about something like a lythrum salicaria/ The one they show is called 'feuerkerze' It looks like it would give you the same effect as the lavender and is almost the same colour!
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

Either Iris ensata (if it stays wet most of the time) or Iris sibirica (if it has drier periods as well).. or day lilies, they cope well with wet soil.

And as a dot plant I'd stick a few Darmera peltata, cos they're quite dramatic.
