Allotments 4 All

I noticed some of my perrenial spring onions (Kujo Futonegi, a Japanese variety, sown last spring) have developed rust on leaves.
What should I do? Remove the affected leaves and burn or just leave them? It doesn't look severe but I've had a serious rust problem with garlics, which are planted in the same plot. I'm a bit worried that same might happen with the spring onions.

Most Perennial onions develop some rust in my experience... high potash lower Nitrogeon fertiliser is supposed to help but I haven't tried it!

My Dad's garlic is covered in the stuff. I've got a bit on my hollyhocks too. Is it fatal or just ugly?

Thanks saddad. :) I'll feed them and see what happens... I'm going to trim the affected leaves as well just in case.

Caroline, It doesn't seem to kill plants off but my garlics look quite weak this year and the bulbs were extremely small. I do agree affected plants are ugly! :D
