I used copper wire round my lettuces this year - worked a treat  :)

I wove them into circles though - about half a centimetre thick.

Any chance of a photo Trixie?

I use copper brillo pads, unravelled then cut into loops, round the ankles of individual plants. They are copper AND prickly, double bubble. Seems to work but no good for big areas.
You been goofin' with the bees?
