I was wondering whether it's too early for an RSM attack yet?  Something has attacked my melon seedlings indoors and I'm not sure what, was wondering how likely it is to be RSM.

Looks like Leaf Spot ( Anthracnose )  The spots have a yellowish margin.

Its something I haven't come across (touch wood) but from what I know about RSM these symptoms do not ring any bells with me.

It could well be a variety of leaf spot as has already been mentioned

Thanks both, I'll read up on leaf spot.

I think if it was RSM you would have had some come onto your hand while handling the plants as they do this for warmth.  I have only had it on my Show leeks and i have never seen marks like that on them. They tend to do for the stems and extract the sap. Lastly when you have the mite there is no mistaking as they are hundreds of them, the size of a grain of sand.
I also think it is to early in the year for them
