Hi all  :) It's been raining here in Spain for a week now (really heavy!) I have Arran Piolts and Spanish (don't know variety) spuds which we've been eating for 2 weeks now. Will they be ok in ground with all the rain? Shall I pull or leave them?

The only down side with some earlies is they tend to hollow if grown to big...
as you don't know the spanish variety we can't know how susceptible it is...
I'd risk leaving them in until needed!

I think you would be ok, but snails love the rain...

I would lift them pop them in your greenhouse to dry out over the day and then pop them in a box somewhere out of the sun.

How much more have you got ready to eat?

:) Hi Biscombe, it's just started to rain in London at 5-30pm. If I was you the best person to ask is the local farmer, as we must grow most of our stuff in different ways. With this in mind could you please visit my web site as I grow potatoes only in waste plastic containers, which you might find of interest as they can be harvested all the year round, even one year on, and in all weathers too.

;D Hi ALL, if you went to see or exhibited something growing at the CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW this year or in the past, would you like to see the way I grow things exhibited there, as I've been sent an invite to next years show, because my projects are to do with saving lives, reusing waste, and growing things, which all come under the heading 'Gardening with Climate Change'. Of cause I wont the answer to be Yes, and the reason why, but if you don't then say so, and the reason why, as they say it's good to talk if it helps to solve a problem. May you and yours and what you grow live long and happy. John. J.R.P.  :)
