This is a well known bridge encountered on the Pennine Way ...(somewhere in Yorkshire)? It is alleged that the road was raised to remove the awkward dip, and the second arch appeared to be the most effective way to alter the bridge ...

If I had have been offering a prize, Belinda would have won it. I've walked this part of the canal many times and this particular bridge, (known as double arched bridge, -what else?..!) is at East Marton.
Photo taken last year on my first full walk of the canel from Fouldridge to Skipton. 40 min's by car, 6 hours - nonstop walking - on foot!
Anyone fancy joining me this July on a repeat?
