Hi all,

I planted my rocket 1st early's on the 10th March but have no idea how to tell when they are ready. ???

I can be a bit impatient at times but don't want to dig them up too early - does anyone think they might be ready yet?

Cheers  :)

Usually when they flower but rocket is a super early (in terms of speed) and needs about ten weeks. I reckon they have had about 7-8 now so should be ready soon..
can you have a firke under one plant?
;D

Pam

Cheers,

I will hold off a couple of weeks and keep an eye out for them flowering

Can't wait!

Probably a week or two yet, but with all this rain they should be starting to bulk up by now.
Roll up your sleeves and have a poke round. (Just like pond dipping when we were kids!).

Last year, May 29th from a March 22nd planting; year before, June 12th (!) from a March 19th planting. This year, planted on March 2nd & 14th, so I'm hoping for something in the next fortnight.

Update on my last posting:

Went "pond dipping" in my earlies yesterday afternoon. They're not ready yet! Try again next week.

I also planted my rocket on the 10th march!
Out of 35 tubers about 5 or 6 are flowering and lot's with buds,I had a little grub about and found they were still quite small,(golf ball size-ish) so I reckon another couple of weeks and   they'll be ready.
