I have been given a rather poorly looking blueberry bush. It has been kept in a conservatory, and looks a little the worse for wear. Does anyone know what kind of conditions they should be kept in?

Katy I grow a lot of blueberries, repot it as fast as you can in a very big pot  you must use the soil that they require which is called ericaceous, even putting in that will make it feel better, after a couple of weeks if there is no improvement but some liquid feed for acid loving plants. the PH of the soil if you can test it should be no more than 5.

It need to damp but not dripping wet, but it hates to be dry.

Don't prune it, wait till it feels better, but do remove any tips that have gone black.

For best yield you need more than one variety, but you can sort that later.

Re pot as soon as you can and remove any soil on it's roots,it will be OK.

Put the pot outside in a sunny place if possible, the conservatory was far too hot for it.

It will bounce back once it gets what it needs, but treat it as urgent

Last year I learnt how not to cry  :'(  :'( when chopping onions - - it's so obvious really - - lean back so your face isn't directly over the chopping board.   ;D  ;D
