Globe asparagus roots!

Do not, I repeat do not let the frost have your globe asparagus plant. It's has taken me nearly an hour to dig the dead one out, the roots go on and on and on and on and on and on  :o
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

I've been protecting mine all winter but they seem to be coping well on their own now.  I think they are supposed to be fairly hardy.  Wish I'd known about the extensive roots before as I've planted mine next to ne asparagus bed.    :(

I do't protect mine either but the books say you shoud XX Jeannine
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

I only lost one out of five so maybe it wasn't the frost but that was the most exposed one.  This one was the most successful one grown from seed too, it almost had a tree trunk in the middle but the others didn't and cropped the heaviest, even though I didn't harvest any!
