Hello :)

I have a strange question. A plant is put into a pot with compost. After a while , it gets root bound. If you leave it too long, the pot just seems full of roots. Where did the compost go?!?

Any ideas?

The plant ate it... and converted it into veg matter, some washed out the bottom and some blew away when it was dry... but mainly the plant ate it ( Matter can be neither created nor destroyed?????????)

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I think it's the air that's gone, not the compost. Moslty. So the roots have gone into the gaps.

I think it is the plant, and if you are not careful they grow out of their pots and eat other things too...lost a cat anyone,it could be that daisy over there !!

Don't forget the triffids XX

matter can neither be created nor destroyed during the course of a chemical reaction.  Physics is different. E equals mc squared. There's a black hole in the bottom of your pots.

Robert_Brenchley

You can view matter as a form of energy, in which case energy can nether be created nor destroyed, and you have something which survives even Einstein!

Too Technical for me.......Argh!

I prefer to think the fairys take it to put in their raised beds that they make with all those teeth. Much simpler.

;D ;D ;D

If you put your houseplants outside for some air, don't forget to take them back indoors again.
