Been to Garden show and lured into buying plants.  Bought Pennisetum Setaceum "Rubrum" (Purple fountain grass) 'cos it looked nice.  When reading the instructions is say "perennial grass that needs to be treated like an annual". ???  Help!

#1
setaceum;....Fountain Grass.

The reason they say treat it as an annual is because it is not winter hardy in the UK.

You could cut the feathery headed stems and dry them off for an indoor display if you like.

Depending upon your facilities, you might be able to grow them in pots outdoors in the summer, then take them indoors for the winter.

Thats all I can offer I'm afraid!

Thank for the information - I will over winter it in the greenhouse - did you go to the Gardening Scotland show, too?
