Have I drown them

Last weekend I sowed seeds of loose lettuce leaf (salad bowl, lolla rossa) in plant tubs.
Sprouts (Fill basket), parsnip in toilet roll tubes, Iceberg lettuce, Kelvedon Wonder peas, & one other variety of peas in seed trays, which I watered then put them in a growbag tray with water in it. Not one has germinated in 8 days. Is it worth leaving them or have they drown / rotted & should I just put more seed with a light covering of compost in the same pots & trays?

Also this is my first year with Parsnips and the seeds now seem to have been uncovered of compost...

All are in my greenhouse, location: Teeside/Middlesbrough.

I think the clue is here
QuoteI watered then put them in a growbag tray with water in it.

They are likely to be too cold and wet!! get them out of the tray!!

hi kt   try digging small holes were your parsnips are to grow fill with ordiary compost and sow the seeds in there. It worksfor me.

Water tray was empty yesterday. Put a light covering of compost over the top to soak some up from the compost already in the tray. Salad leaf has germinated over night, so has some broccoli & some sprout seeds. No sign of the peas, cabbage or parsnip in toilet rolls as yet. Fingers crossed. If nothing in 2-3 days I guess I will need to start again on them. :-[

I planted some parsnips back in february & none germinated.  Bought some new seeds & up they popped in about a week - now making really good growth under cloches.  Is you seed new?

Also I'm having really poor germination from peas this year - last year's seed but I would have thought it would be ok.
