I work late three days a week. On those days my daughter (age 16) and OH make their own evening meal. As OH usually indulges his love of curry, they don't normally eat the same meal.

Last night, OH was out too and when I got home I found my daughter had not only made her own meal and washed up afterwards, but she'd also vacuumed the lounge and hall, taken out the rubbish and mopped the kitchen floor. She quite made my day!

She'd had completed all her homework as well - even the maths!

Love her to bits :-*

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

What's her ironing like, we could have round to do ours, tell you what she could look after the kids while she's at it and now I think of it the curtains could do with a wash.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

It just goes to show that there is good ones out there!! Well done to you too in bringing up your family to go out of their way to do something nice without having to be asked. :) ;) :)

Me too Cam  ::)  :-X.  If she was one of my step daughters i'd put money on that she would have eaten at Macdonalds & been skpping school hence the lack of homework, and the housework would have remained undone  ::)

Oh! ye of little faith :o..... actually, move over on the bench and make room for me :D.....my first thought was a smiling "I wonder what she wants, then?".....

I'm with Saddad on this one.  16 yr old son shows absolutely no understanding of anything domestic (although not through lack of our trying).  Can we join the queue for borrowing her please?  Got no girls, only boys :(

My 13 year old daughter was suprisingly helpful today, also put rubbish out and hoovered the stairs (my all time hated job......)

I was just about to be impressed, when I remembered....it was parents evening at her school!
::)

She's doing reallly well though, she shouldn't have worried! ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Louise......don't forget the maths homework 8) - like I said, truly inspired ;D

Lillypad, please, please don't think we're doing your daughter down, here. It was lovely of her, really was, & she sounds a great person you've reared :-*.......just that......oh OK, I'll leave it here ... ;D ;D ;D

Lillypad

Oh, I know where Cam & Kitten were coming from and I'd probably think the same about anyone else's daughter. :o However, I know mine & I know she did it with no 'malice aforethought' so to speak.

We've been very lucky in our lovely girl; she works hard because she is ambitious and we've somehow managed to instill in her a sense of pride in doing her best; it paid off with excellent GCSE results last summer. In addition she cares about people and genuinely wants to help. Even as I 'speak' she is doing a hospital radio show for children.

Oh dear. I'm naking her sound a right little goody two shoes! I'm not blinkered - I know she has her faults just as we all do - but when she does something exceptionally nice, I just like to acknowledge it. And no, I'm not lending her out to anyone!!! She's mine - all mine (& the OH's of course) ;D

louise stella

No - good for her!

Mine isn't all that bad either!
