Just bought a similar bromleiad but un-named from Marks nd Spencers as a present. It is in a gel in a glass container with instructions to give a few table spoons of tap water every few weeks.

Can this be put in a pot and if so what is it potted into?

My guess is they grow in forks of trees so a bark and grit compost?????

hi ipt8, as you can see i find them easy to grow and propagate, i use a bark compost, this time of year i dont give them much water, once a month (if they are lucky) a drop down the middle, i place them on a south facing window sill, with a piece of paper or netting to keep the cold off of them at nights,

hope this helps
