Allotments 4 All

I've just been sent this from a supplier I've previously bought seeds from:

Anyone tried growing these before? Are they as hot as advertised?

I'm tempted to have a go, OH is always moaning chilies I've grown aren't hot enough.... ???

How do they compare with the Habanero Orange I let you have?
A few seeds spare would be nice... squeeze them into the poly!

He was very impressed with the orange habeneros, I was hoping the Fatalie variety I grew (from POD) which looked very similar would be as hot...but apparently NOT  :'(

Thompson & Morgan do a chilli pepper called Hot Tepin.
On the front of the pack, it says:"Is this the world's hottest?" On the back of the pack it says: "A native Mexican shrub, Tepin is in fact the world's hottest chilli pepper, try it if you dare, etc etc"
I paid 25p for this pack of 25 seeds at the Wyevale sale, but the normal retail price is £1.69, so the eBay offer looks a bit expensive, especially for 5 seeds.

I agree, I thought it looked a bit steep!
I've just noticed another chili seed offer in the same suppliers eBay shop, including 5 of the Dorset hotties, and loads of others to try, for £7.99...looks to be a bit better offer!

Try Peppers by Post; they bred the stuff, and say they'll have seed early in the New Year. http://www.peppersbypost.biz/ . I may try it, as I mentioned it to a friend at church and she was keen to have some.

From my understanding of the "Scoville scale" of spicyness (see wikipedia.org), 1 gram of Dorset Naga would be enough to "taint" 900 litres of water!
I'll stick to my jars of mild curry paste...

When they get that hot, is anyone eating the stuff going to have enough taste buds left to know the difference?

Am I right in thinking that habanero are fall into the 'serious' class amongst chilli addicts ... ? I grew some of these a while back and certainly found them to have sharp teeth ...
