Got another plant to identify, not sure if its exactly a climber but it's coming from next door and growing up a conifer on my side. I love the colours and want to propagate it.

That's the true Virginia Creeper, Parthenocissus quinquefolia. 

Easy to propagate by layering the stems.

Could you give me a little more info on how to layer the stems? I want to grow it in a different location.

Can be a bit of a thug, that one - although I like it too, mine gets cut down to the ground every winter and grows at least 15 ft every summer.

Lax climbers like this one often root naturally where they touch the ground.  If it's next door, why not ask your neighbour if you can have a look - you might find that there are some ready-rooted pieces that you can just detach from the main plant.
