Could anyone tell me how long they last, should I replace after a few years?
I've had my lottie for just over a year now so I'm not sure how old they are but a neighbour got a better crop off just a few canes than I did from 100's of them. I received my seed order book this week and they have some special offers on rasps. Not sure if I should dig up and replace.

Also if I keep them what's the advice on pruning them?

Firstly; are they a summer sort or an autumn sort?

Secondly; if you say 100's of them maybe they are too close together

Then; after finished picking they need to be cut of cleanly at ground level and the bed then freed of weeds. The new canes should be carefully tied to the wires and not cut back - should they be too long - until October.

If they are a summer sort cut back every second one to about 20 inches, this will increase the winter activity in the ground and bring stronger shoots next year.

Don't replace any raspberries with raspberries, the ground needs at least 6 years with other crops before raspberries can be replaced. Don't plant new roots on ground which has grown tomatoes or potatoes for the last three years.

I got all my fruit in the summer months.
