Don't know about the rest of you but I feel I bit uneasy when I log on to find a hidden user. Last 2 nights at least this has been the case.

Maybe it's a silly reaction but I just can't understand why a "user" would want to be hidden? And a guest can be hidden by virtue of being a guest but doesn't post so that is different.

Sorry if I'm overreacting but .......

I have also noticed, but I also took in various other things which appeared to be evident at the time. I feel relaxed and confident that all is well ...  :)
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Admin aka Dan

It is a function of somthing I am trying to get sorted, it is not possible for users to set themselves as hidden.

It is possible for an admin user to do it, in fact I think this user is hidden!

Hope that puts you mind at rest.

Well I had my suspicions! Thanks Dan for putting my mind at rest.

I use the hide facility quite a lot on forums I visit.  Don't see the problem.  Can't see how it could possibly offend anyone?

Just human nature to be suspicious of anyone who hides from you

Useful to be able to hide when you should be doing something else though, don't you think?   ;)

OK, what's 'hidden user' ??? :-[

Yellow Petals

The majority of forums give the user the option to 'stay hidden' if they just want to sign in and have a gander about without being noticed.  I don't think A4A has this option (have never looked, but reading Dan's post above, I am assuming not)

I use it on other forums from time to time and on my own when I want to faff about with settings, etc.   :)
