Lots of my borlotti beans are sprouting roots inside their pods. Anyone else got this problem - and any idea why?

Eek!
Are they still on the plant periwinkle?

Not now SS !!  ;D They are from dwarf plants, I wonder if the damp and warmth has done it. Some pods had got to the papery stage, some just full. Shelled some to cook  and discovered it. Have taken them all up now.

Yep, warm and damp, sometimes happens to some I have saved for seed... better check over our plants again!

Think I shall go for the climbing variety next year - better air circulation?

Sprouted beans can be eaten raw or lightly boiled. Highly nutritious!
