I have "Alan/Gordon" issues in my house too, but the other way round.

My eldest (6) has been brought up on a TV diet of UKTV Gardening or whatever it's called, and flatly refuses to accept that it's Gordon. She winds up the younger one by saying (loudly throughout the cartoon)

"it's not really Gordon, it's Alan, that man that shows you how to dig & plant stuff. You know, the one that Mummy always watches. He walks about talking about trees and things"

Needles to say, a fight soon breaks out and the telly gets switched off.

I have the same problem with Ringo Starr.  Every time he's on the telly I picture Thomas the Tank Engine!!!!
