Hi all, hope that someone can help me, I am trying to plan what I can plant next year, based on my successes ;D and failures!  :'(

My greatest success has definately been the tomatoes grown in the hanging baskets, and am thinking of doing it again next year, however these ones were bought as small plants, already planted in the baskets and simply marked as "tumblers" ???

I have checked a coupl of seed catalogues, but can only find one variety which actually says that it is OK for baskets, "tumbling Toms" both i red and yellow, anyone know of any others, I am very lucky to  have about 20 hooks along the front of my veranda, and these are ideal for hanging baskets, so would be looking for about 5 different varieties if poss  :o

Thanks
Kathi :-)

Been growing Gartenperle as a tumbler this year but can't yet give it the thumbs up yet as all the fruit is still green as green can be.

I have a Tumbler tom in a hanging basket. It was the first of all my toms to produce fruit and 5 of them went red almost immediately. The rest are sat there, green and sulking, but do look ok doing the tumbler thing over the dge of the basket! Have green tom chutney recipe at the ready!

As an HSL member I might be able to spare some "Whippersnapper" which is a lax and very productive variety. Some catalogues run "Green Sausage" which has attractive yellow stripes when ripe but is seriously horizontal and popular with the slugs as a result!
