Allotments 4 All

Now I can't get out of the house for the next 2-3 hours - had one of these demolition machines, jurassic jaws open, wander past my window this morning.

And this afternoon, he's demolishing next door.  Fascinating to watch this enormous beast grab the metal joists out of the house, pull them out and fold them neatly in half in one pile;  and pick up the debris and put it in another.

I pointed out where my telephone wire passes in front of the building, and he's done an amazing job of missing it!

I'm not complaining about the wind any more - it's blowing the dust away from me (well . . . most of it!)

And I've given up the idea of being an engine driver when I grow up!  :) :) :)  Feel like Toad sitting in the road ;D ;D ;D

Jealous Gavin. I'm a huge demolition groupie. I could watch them tearing down buildings for hours! Ah, destruction.  ;D

When I was little I was going to right to Jim'll Fix It to ask if I could swing one of those demolition balls, but I didn't want to be on tv!

Now I still dream of one day growing up and working in demolition.  :D

First one I've seen close up - I've seen prestressed concrete monstrosities being chewed up, gulp by gulp.

But seeing a house, delicately pulled apart - wowee!
