Any advice for getting a big pumpkin or two?

Hi all, I have "Pumpkin Hundredweight" plants grown from seed and they are doing well. Do I need to leave only one or two fruit on the plant and watch them grow or just leave them to sort themselves out? I imagine that too many might drain the plants resources?

Thanks

Stopping the growing tips regularly after a few fruit are set will certainly help Tony, have a look in the Pumpkin section lower down the home page!

Last year I allowed no more than two per plant and got these, pity I didn't put  them along side something to indicate size unless the 3" bench laths help in this.

They all weighed in at over 50lbs
