i am running a new footie team in nottingham and we are training off season, as we have no goal posts am going to have to make some 2.44 uprights, i am going to make these out of 35 ml pipe , but the only problem is making a base , cant really put them in ground as its hard etc , so can anyone think of a small base i could fit them on to,

Hmmm.  What about those stands you get to hold outdoor umbrellas?  Maybe you could put a stout pole in the hole for the umbrella and thread the pipe over the top?

Wonder if you can get the concrete blocks that hold the poles of the fencing that I have seen round building sites?
