Hi everyone,

I have a Lithodora heavenly blue and would like to take cuttings from it successfully.

I have tried before but they always rotted.

Can anyone tell give me any advice on when to take cuttings, how to care for them, any tips for success ?

They are beautiful flowers. I keep my eyes open for the variety with white stars in them but no luck yet.

Thanks Gail

Never had much success myself, but I was told that the time to take the stem tip cuttings is when the new growth is reddish.

Try rooting them in pure sand, I find it works very well.

Now that is odd, I do all my cuttings in pure sharp sand. The only thing to remember is that there is no food and once things have rooted they need to be moved on into compost.

Thanks for that - I've always used compost so I'll try again with sand.

Happy Gardening!!
