Your first place to get rid of any programme is;
Click 'start'...then 'settings'...then 'control panel'.
Look for the programme name you want to delete. If it's there, select and delete it. If not, come back here.
PS: All upper case doesn't make for easier reading.

Glad you brought this up, my Mum&Dad's PC keeps asking for this too.

A quick 'Google' led me to this link http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/broadjump.html

Hope there's a solution for you on there.

Hi colinandyvonne, thank you for your reply but i cannot seem to get any further than click run every time i type misconfig it is rejected.
Have you any other ideas.   That site addy you gave me read word for word what is on my puter,so i wonder why it won`t work?? :(

gavin

Hi Rosebud - you need to type "msconfig" (not misconfig!)

Does that help?

Good luck - Gavin

rosebud

Hi Gavin i tried what you suggested and it keeps saying it cannot find a file of that name  and to make sure the path and file name are correct.   Can you help at all with that please thanks
                  Rosebud :D

colinandyvonne

very strange you haven't got 'msconfig'

not using a MAC are you?

Y.

colinandyvonne

Okay, found some more info for you.

Windows 2000 doesn't have msconfig.  Another google on this found a forum discuss a different subject but stated this:
--
open up Regedit and browse to [HLKM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RUN]. From there, you can manually delete the values, which are starting the unwanted applications
--

Hope this helps further

I'm a cowardy-cat - delving into regedit and editing registry can be more than a little tricky, unless you know what you're doing.  Not something you want to get wrong.

I'll see if I can find something a bit safer - I know what it is, as I used to have it, but I can't for the life of me remember the name.

All best - Gavin
