help me melons !!!

I have managed to get my plants to 12 inch stage, then two leaves have gone all limp rest of plant seems fine it was slightly colder yesterday, but had heating on should i feed them more ? i have not started to pinch side shoots afraid may make situation worse.

Any help would be gratefully received

How have you planted them silverback - are they still in pots?

Feed them more!!-patience,you should not even dream of feeding at this stage.

I think the reason is in this statement.

1) was it the first two leaves that wilted/drooped?

If so these are the cotyledon and are pretty much superfluous after planting out.


2) I would also guess that your plants have got cold feet, and this is their way of rebeling.........you applied heat above ground but cooled the soil by watering it !!!

Steady with the water from now on until they start growing again.

This will be noticeable  by a change in the colour of the growing tip, it will be a different shade of green.

Then is the time to nip out etc, to do it sooner will double check your plants.

I water with warm water, they love it.
