Hello all, could some one please advice me on coleus I have quite a few growing form seed and was wondering if they would be ok to grow in the flower borders once the danger of frost is over...or are they only a greenhouse plant.

Hi Richard, yes they can go out after the risk of frost has gone, they used to be popular as a bedding plant in parks departments years ago.The gardeners used to make patterns out of the different colours.
My idea of a good time is a new seed catalogue to read.

I think coleus are very attractive bedding plants - all those wonderful colours!....I even put them into the centre of a tub/pot with other smaller or trailing things around them.....even tho I believe they don't like too much water - they always seem to thrive!....they also look nice grouped altogether (in their pots) in a trough.

They do look good outside, and a re very tough - members of the nettle family, in fact  ;D
