I planted some Jap onions in late autumn (they don't seem to be doing much though), they are about 3-4 inches high.  I've been given some wood that i can now make raised beds, however, my onions are in the way.  Do i have to leave that area or can i lift my onions and but them back in my first raised bed?

Can someone pls help.

I'd have thought you could move them, but I wouldn't bother myself. If I want to change beds round, I do it when they're empty.

Onions are very shallow rooted and wont like being moved I am afraid.

Also be ware when you hoe around them as it is easy to damage the roots.
