Allotments 4 All

Hi There Im new today! Iwould love an allotment but at the moment only have a back yard :(Never mind ! I would love to have one , one day but time and possible  change of job limits me! I have had a garden in Cornwall and Devon , but now in Lancashire! So if anyone could suggest small eating plants and herbs that i can grow and eat and paint too! Also  i do mosaic work and want to make some unusual small containers! Any ideas from any one would help me cosiderably. Look forward to your ideas! Thankyou! ???
