My kids are bugging my to upgrade our normal sky package to Sky+ but is is quite expensive if I don't want to take out their multiroom package.  (Of course it's far cheaper for new customers!!)  Anyway, am I right in thinking that the new HD TVs will have sky+ incorporated in them?  We will need a new TV in the next year or so in which case will it be better to wait?

I've not heard of sky+ built in, but it is possible.

Some tv's now have a freeview recorder in them, have a look on http://www.digitalspy.co.uk, they seem to know everything!

Cheers

Hi Amanda,

Sky+ (currently available) is not the same thing as Sky HD (coming later this year). Sky+ gives you the ability to record one thing on Sky while watching something else, or time-shift / "pause live TV".

See http://www.sky.com/ordersky/currentoffers and http://hd.sky.com/

Sky High Definition (HD) service will include the ability to record / time-shift HD.

If you want to be prepared for High Definition when you buy a new TV, you need to buy a TV with the "HD ready" logo - follow this link:

http://www.hdready.org.uk/

At the moment I am not aware of any TV manufacturer building an "integrated Sky HDTV" TV set, so you will need a Sky HD set-top-box to plug into an HD-ready TV.

I'm not linked to Sky, but I hope the above helps.

i dont know off any hd tv's that have sky+
but what i do know is somtime during the next 12mths sky are going to start broadcasting some off there  channels in hd so picture quality on them channels will be spot on if you have a hd tv
hope this helps
