I switched on the otherday only to find I'd lost all my contacts and emails in Outlook. Anybody any ideas on how I can recover them? >:(

Might be in your deleted files memory. :)

Badger1

Thanks, but that was the first place I looked.

Have you tried a search all files, using *.pab inckuding searching hidden folders.

This will show if the file is still on your system. If it is, then you can import it.

Hope this helps.

Badger1

Great Derek, I'll try that in a minute (I suppose you mean import it back into Outlook) thanks. :)

Sorry Derek, no *.pab files on the machine. Any other suggestions? :o

I am unfamiliar with Outlook, as I use outlook express. Is there not a shared address book which is accessed by all of windows? Or at least MS Office?
Hence the information may be saved in another format ... just guessing here, but it is worth checking.

The moral here is to export your address book regularly, so that you have a backup ... having said that, I am just as guilty ...

Palustris

Just try a straight Search for Address Book. At least then you will know if it still exists. On my computer it is in Documents and Settings, if that is any help.
Gardening is the great leveller.

Sorry Palustris, address book seems to have no connection with Outlooks contact list. There must be a MS wizkid out there somewhere? ::)

Hi Badger
Goto Start then Programmes, then acessories and finally to address book, if its there, then export it back into outlook by using FILE and the export as wab.
hope this helps
