I know that blackcurrant bushes don't like to be pruned because of fruiting but are they happy to be moved?   I have a couple of largish (4' across) bushes that I want to move to another plot.

If so are there any tips.

I also want to buy a couple of sulphur goosberry bushes for I think they are great eating being nice and sweet.  What do people recommend variety wise?

Well I have moved blackcurrant bushes in the past with no problems. Move when dormant, water well beforehand, as big a rootball etc etc. They are quite shallow rooted. As for pruning them, you should. They fruit best on shoots produced the previous year so you should prune about 1/3 back to near the ground each year to encourage new growth.

Don't know what a sulphur gooseberry is.

I think its down the colour i.e. yellow.   Someone gave me a few and they were large, quite yellow in colour and very sweet (for gooseberries) but they have no idea on the variety and all the dessert ones I find when searching are red.

An old couple in our village used to sell the fruit from their garden (I'm talking original PYO - 50years ago!) The 'golden sulphurs' were delicious - as many eaten as picked!  So I too would like to know if this variety is still available.
