I always tried to keep pet catepillars in jam jars when I was a kid (really I wanted a dog, but we couldn't find a jar big enough ;)) anyway - they always died before anything interesting happened. (maybe it's a good job I didn't get the dog)!

sound just as well you did not get a dog Aquilegia would have been much to big jam jar to carry around ;D ;D ;D

Hi Lottie, Meg's Butterfly is a female Large White. Male doesn't have spots on it's wings but does have the black tips.
